VERY USEFUL
By Gregory A. Benford
I've been sampling BEST 101 & am very pleased at the summaries indeed. It's an insightful way to consider the sprawl of great work over 25 years, a huge job!
I've read the majority and agree they should be in. (There's even one of mine, an unexpected bonus. They treated my galactic series well and caught the flavor of it.) Glad to see Anderson's GENESIS, his last great work -- writ for me in a month! -- when Zelazny died and I had a slot to fill in the collection, FAR FUTURES. Anderson was a titan.
Could've used an index, but still, immensely valuable. Thanks for this very useful book--must read some of these I missed!

A Great Overview of the past 25 years in SF
By MFPW
For the casual sf fan looking for a new read, or for someone like me who needs to stay abreast of the ever-sprawling world of sf, Broderick & Di Filippo have done us all a service. Concise, engaging and insightful, Science Fiction the 101 Best Novels: 1985-2010 provides an important survey of the work being done with the sf novel over the last quarter century. From seminal works like Atwood's The Handmaiden's Tale & Mieville's Perdito Street Station, onto less-discussed gems like Nagata's Vast & Jensen's My Dirty Little Book of Stolen Time, Broderick & Di Filippo provide the reader with a generous offering of quality science fiction.

Will every reader agree with the selections laid out in this book? Did everyone agree with Rolling Stone's list of the 100 great rock n roll guitarists? Hell no. But that's the point. Books like 101 stir the debate and get people talking about favorite books unloved and not included, and this enthusiasm spills over and generates more conversation and ultimately more reading. Broderick & Di Filippo hipped me to at least 15 books that slipped under my radar, and their combined enthusiasm for books I have neglected like Shepard's Life During Wartime and Niffeneggar's The Time Traveler's Wife have made me reconsider both novels. And on the macro level, 101 offers the reader a solid overview of the themes, artistic movements and philosophical ideas that have guided sf from cyberpunk to singularity.

Science fiction has always been a dialogue between the past and the present. With Science Fiction the 101 Best Novels: 1985-2010, Broderick & Di Filippo keep the dialogue moving forward.

101 Bottles of SF on the Wall
By John M. Ford
This book has an unusually descriptive title. It contains 101 brief (2-5 page) reviews of the "best" 101 science fiction novels published in 1985 through 2010. It is a companion volume to David Pringle's Science Fiction: The 100 Best Novels: 1949-1984. Both books guide readers through the relatively large universe of book-length science fiction. Authors Damien Broderick and Paul Di Filippo limit themselves to one entry per book author, using this entry to discuss multiple works by that author as appropriate.

The entries include reviews of five of my favorites. They provide a general sense of the way these books are reviewed and evaluated.

Ender's Game (1985) by Orson Scott Card. This novel about human cadets training to fight in an interstellar war launched Card's career. Its success is attributed to the inclusion of a dozen hot-button topics: "...an existential threat to the human race; the nature of alien intelligence and person-hood; genocide; means versus ends; the `great man' theory of history; the limits of government and the proper role of the citizen; the limits and nature of the educational system; the military ethos; the nature of sociopaths and power; family dynamics; sibling rivalry; and schoolboy rivalry."

Use of Weapons (1990) by Iain M. Banks. The review outlines the book's history of protagonist Cheradenine Zakalwe, a perpetual soldier for various armies and causes. It also overviews Banks' other novels set in the "Culture" universe and the primary themes emphasized in its post-scarcity society. There is an insightful discussion of the book's twin helix narrative structure. And there is an *unforgiveable* spoiler for one of the other Culture books.

A Fire Upon the Deep (1992) by Vernor Vinge. This story spans star systems across an entire sector of the galaxy and includes humans, an engagingly-strange collection of aliens, and strange, incomprehensible Powers with... strange, incomprehensible powers. The universe is partitioned into Zones which are concentric regions around the galaxy's center. The laws of physics differ in these Zones, with thought and spaceflight barely possible in the Unthinking Depths and artificial intelligence, faster-than light travel, and other wonders abundant in the Beyond. Bad things can happen when denizens of different Zones interact. The review discusses Vinge's the relationship between this work, its prequel A Deepness in the Sky, and the Singularity concept introduced in Marooned in Realtime.

Perdido Street Station (2000) by China Miéville. This book introduced readers to the author's Bas-Lag series and to its central city, the sprawling, overcrowded, mucusy metropolis of New Crobuzon. The book is named for its largest train station, only one of an incredible set of locations that includes an enclave of cactus-people and an embassy of Hell. The story is about a scientist who accidentally looses deadly slake-moths on the City. But the story is just an excuse to explore the people, places, and improbabilities of New Crobuzon. There is also some discussion of Miéville`s subsequent Bas-Lag books, The Scar and Iron Council.

The Time Traveler's Wife (2003) by Audrey Niffenegger. This book isn't really about time travel in the traditional sense, nor may it "really" be considered science fiction. But it is close to both. Clair and Henry are friends, lovers, spouses, parents who have a life together, but many parts of it are out of sequence. Henry is an involuntary time traveler who jumps to different points in the past and future without will or warning. He knows Clair as a little girl, a teenager, a woman. And she waits for him, never knowing how old he will be when he appears. We see the implications across the span of their lives, if span is the right word. The review gives us a bit more of the author's perspective on her unique book.

The reviews of books I am familiar with describe their characters and plots accurately and are reasonably free of spoilers--with a few exceptions. Reviews of books I have not read have convinced me to pick up some overlooked gems, including Cyteen, The Diamond Age, and The Handmaid's Tale. I recommend this book as a reference and reading guide to recent, higher-quality science fiction.

Excerpt from Electro-Horticulture

Electricity is analogous to heat and light, and, like them, has an influence upon the growth of plants. What this is, it is the purpose of the author to inquire into with his readers by presenting to them a summary of what has been accomplished in the comparatively new science of electro-horticulture, and by discussing with them the rationale of the action of electricity upon vegetation.

That he may afford assistance to some who are already at work, and possibly influence others to investigate into this fascinating subject, is his sole motive in offering to the public this monograph.

He has had in view the popular rather than the scientific aspect of the subject, and hence has limited himself to what he felt would most appeal to the average reader.

Economics of Bridgework: A Sequel to Bridge Engineering (Classic Reprint), by J. A. L. Waddell

Excerpt from Economics of Bridgework: A Sequel to Bridge Engineering

The author's object in foisting still another bridge book upon his long-suffering brother engineers is twofold, viz.:

First. A desire to leave behind him for the benefit of the next generation of bridge specialists, in shape readily available for use, a solution of all the major economic problems in bridgework and an extensive treatment of most of the minor ones. He has endeavored to cover every possible economic question of importance; and, if any such be omitted, it is because he did not recognize their existence. To what extent he has succeeded in this endeavor can be determined only by the reception which the book meets from the engineering profession.

Second. To show to specialists in all branches of the engineering profession the type of book on economics which, in his opinion, each specialty needs and how broad and thorough, if possible, should be the treatment of the subject.

The author feels that he is the logical person to write a book upon the economics of bridgework, because he has been investigating the matter for thirty-seven years, and has dealt at length, upon more than twenty different occasions, in books, pamphlets, and memoirs, with various economic topics on the subject of bridge designing, as can be seen by referring to the list of the said writings given in the Appendix.

An explanation but not an apology is needed for the fact that certain portions of "Bridge Engineering" have been copied in a few of the chapters. As that work from start to finish is impregnated with the fundamental idea of economy,, and as this book is intended to cover the entire field of bridge economics, it was necessary to include herein the gist of all that appears on the matter in that work, as well as the substance of all the author's economic writings that are subsequent to its publication. Wherever anything previously written on the subject could advantageously be modified or enlarged, this has been done; but where it could not be improved upon or augmented, the only thing to do was to copy it verbatim. Hence, should any reader see any portion of "Economics of Bridgework," which appears familiar to him, if he has read this preface he will understand the reason therefor and will, the author trusts, excuse the occurrence.

Hailed as the most important poet of his generation, renowned Irish poet Paul Muldoon is an extremely adept reader and writer. Ergodicity is the degree that a reader takes a disrupted path through a text. This study uses Muldoon's work as a poet and as a critic as a datum edge from which the ideas of difficulty, ergodicity, and allusion can be measured, significantly expanding the applications of ergodicity as it has previously been defined. Paul Muldoon has published over thirty collections and won many prizes including a Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and the T. S. Eliot Prize. He held the post of Oxford Professor of Poetry from 1999 to 2004. At Princeton University he is both the Howard G. B. Clark '21 Professor in the Humanities and chair of the Lewis Center for the Arts. He is also the president of the Poetry Society in the UK and Poetry Editor of the New Yorker.

Mas, Mas, Mas Excellante
By Paul Olexa
If you're prowling around for immensely wry, incisive, and, as Paul Muldoon (somewhat-ish) put it, "read lucid as ludic" contemporary critical apogetic analysis, then this spellbinding illumination of Muldoon's intertextual nadir by Ben Field will sate every need and take many seems right out of what might have been once supposed. Field derives an immense pleasure out of engaging with text qua text; whether etymologically, philologically, or even ergodically himself, he strikes a path through the twisty brambles of Muldoon's shambling legacy in a measured demarcation of ergodicity's influence and overall import through the currency of not only Muldoon's work, but in the wider world at lsrge. A seriously manned, sci-saboled masterstroke.

Reminiscences of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey (Classic Reprint), by Joseph Cottle

Excerpt from Reminiscences of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey

It is with a solemnized feeling that I enter on these Reminiscences. Except one, I have survived all the associates of my earlier days. The young, with a long life in perspective, (if any life can be called long, in so brief an existence) are unable to realize the impressions of a man, nearer eighty than seventy, when the shadows of evening are gathering around, and, in a retrospective glance, the whole field of past vision appears, in all its complexities, like the indistinct tumults of a dream. The acute reasoner - the fiery politician - the eager polemic - the emulous aspirant after fame; and many such have I known, where are they? and how mournful, if any one of them should be found, at last, to have directed his solicitudes, alone, to material objects; - should have neglected to cultivate his own little plot of earth, more valuable than mines! and have sown no seeds for eternity.

Dielectric Phenomena in High-Voltage Engineering (Classic Reprint), by F. W. Peek

Excerpt from Dielectric Phenomena in High-Voltage Engineering

It is the object of the author to give in this book the properties of gaseous, liquid and solid insulations, and methods of utilizing these properties to the best advantage in the problems of high-voltage engineering. Such problems require a knowledge, not only of the laws and mechanism of breakdown of dielectrics as determined by experiment, but also a simple working knowledge of the dielectric circuit.

Methods that have proved useful in designing apparatus, transmission lines, insulators, bushings, etc., are discussed and illustrated by practical application. In addition, such subjects as the manner of making extensive engineering investigations and of reducing data, the measurement of high voltages, the effects of impulse and high-frequency voltages, methods of drawing dielectric fields, outline of modern theory, various dielectric phenomena, etc., are considered. In all cases where laws and discussions of dielectric phenomena are given, it has been thought best to accompany these with experimental data.

Much original work is given, as well as reference to other investigations. The authors extensive research was made possible by facilities afforded by the Consulting Engineering Department of the General Electric Company, for which acknowledgment is made. Thanks are due Mr. H. K. Humphrey, and others, who have greatly assisted in the experiments and calculations.

This book gives away my unusual interest in high voltage consulting. For a 100 year old book (published 1915) it is still a definitive reference on corona.

Good book! Poor printing quality!
By alpcruz
It is an excellent book, a classic one, but, the reprint paperback edition has a poor quality, not only the paper but the printing itself. The text is about ok, but many equations are not well printed, so they are incomplete. Besides, it seems papers were wetted near the headband. Maybe the package was the problem.
This book can be downloaded for free and, as I decided to buy the printed edition, I'll have to search for the many incomplete equations in the PDF file and fulfill the missing words in my paperback edition.
So,if you're interested in purchasing this book, I think you'd better buy the old, hardcover edition, even if it is not in a new condition.

The Cultural Joys of Yiddishkeit
By Art Shapiro
This is a facsimile reprint of a book we had in my home when I was a kid. It was published in English by the Jewish Publication Society in 1911 (the original appeared in German in 1892). It had belonged to my mother's deceased brother. I probably read it four or five times before I went off to college, and I have often regretted not taking it with me--my parents wouldn't have minded, but I wanted to "travel light" and did. Many of the essays are fine works of scholarship and interpretation, and all are immensely readable. Finding that this reprint was available was a pleasant surprise, and re-reading "A Jewish King in Poland" (my favorite), "Moses Maimonides", "Heinrich Heine and Judaism," "The Music of the Synagogue" and the rest has been a very rewarding blast from the past. You don't have to be Jewish to love Nathan's hot dogs, or this book, and it is a fine reminder of the very rich cultural life of European Jewry before the war.

Dated. Only buy if you already have studied Jewish history
By Love the 19th century
Worth the price I paid for the Kindle version, this is an old, old book that seems to be a collection of essays and addresses given by this French Jewish intellectual (I think.) I read it while I'm walking on the treadmill and it makes the time go really fast. You have to read it within its historic context. His is the grand old declarative hagiographic, ancestor-worshipping style, before people had to substantiate their knowledge with pesky footnotes and evidence they had done real research. His thesis in many an article is that Jewish values, learning, people, had a great, widespread influence on every positive development of the western world. People who are looking for reasons to hate Jews could really takes this material the wrong way -- whether it was a hundred years ago or today. I am enjoying reading it because, as you know by now, I "love the nineteenth century."

Excellent reference book
By Johnsky
Excellent reference book. Very effective tool to accelerate productivity of interns and new graduates and as a refresher/quick reference guide for specific EE topics for seasoned engineers (when working outside of your daily speciality.) It goes straight to the point, no-BS, giving a quick answer to common problems, so you can quickly get back to solving your real problem!

I was initially reluctant to purchase a book, when the internet makes searching so easy! However, there is just so much BAD information out there, that finding a quick answer to a typical EE question can be challenging, and definitely results in a waste of time. Mr. Eisenbeis’ book was recommended as a solution by a colleague, and it has proven invaluable!

The presentation of the information is presented in a straight-forward manner, using the standard terminology used in the industry, without a lot of theory or hyperbole found in EE college text books. The layout of the book makes it easy to quickly find an answer, or to simply refresh your memory on a specific topic, that challenges engineers during every design effort. This resource allows your young engineers to quickly find information on how things are typically done in the industry, allowing them to more quickly become productive as they acclimate to the real-life work of an electronic engineer, which is not generally what most students expect.

I have also found this book to be rather valuable to my mechanical engineers, providing them some much needed insight to the issues faced by their EE counterparts, particularly about how their mechanical designs affect the electronic performance (such as shock and vibration can induce actual electronic problems such as through piezoelectric effect).

Solid sidekick with insight into the novel and other possibilities
By Evildeadjay
Crossfire is a series based around tangled relationships and erotic complications. This sidekick provides a clear insight into the main characters Gideon and Eva. In-depth analysis is provided on the characters and their motivations, for example how each has secrets they hold against another that are forgotten when the two lovers become entangled in passion. Eva's affair with Brett Kline and Gideon's past history of abuse are both explored on a deeper level.

Additionally, this sidekick provides some unique alternate possibilities, including an alternate ending where Eva fully pursues the affair she is having and leaves Gideon behind. The outcome could very well have led to Gideon's suicide. Also, a theme is outlined which poses the question is it better to take care of your own troubles, or reach out to others? Since some of the romance in the novel as well as side plots seems to fizzle out, these are nice additions to the sidekick. Character analysis is also provided. Very well done!

Best read while reading "Captivated By You"
By Portia Kai
I started reading the crossfire series about 3 months ago, and I'm captivated (pun intended). I was happy to see there was a sidekick for "Captivated By You" and gave it a read. I liked the how the sidekick breaks down the book and provides additional insights. The themes and symbols section, as well as the character guide are very helpful. This sidekick is great while reading the book, as well as reading after you have completed the book. There are sections instructing you to "read this section while still reading the book and read this section after". The character pages were helpful, and the alt endings were amusing. There are also suggestions for other books/series you may enjoy included at the end, which has led me to some great books and authors.

Captivated By You Summarized Superbly
By Forests
Ok, moment of truth. I am not a fan of erotic novels and do not read them at all. That being said, I do want to be in the loop about the trending books out there without wading through all the sexual content. I want to get to know the story, understand the characters, and the struggles of the characters quickly.

I’ve turned to Sidekicks while reading books to add depth to my reading experiences before and decided to try reading a sidekick apart from the novel, GASP…. I know, shame on me.

But it gave me a deeper appreciate for this sidekick. Through it I was able to get acquitted with the characters, their obsessive ex's, their struggles with past scars, and their struggle to find balance in their new relationship. I was able to understand the sub-plots and the real living relationship between the characters without filling my mind with unwanted sex scenes.

The sidekick was very well written, and easily explained the differences and personalities between the characters as well as their relationships to one another. I loved how the author didn't "summarize" or dwell on the sexual aspects of the book and instead focused on the relationships and human interactions of the novel.

Hidden In Plain Sight, by Peter Rush

This book is dedicated to Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, who was the playwright and poet we know as “Shakespeare,” one of the most accomplished, and tragic, figures in human history, who, by an improbable turn of events, was destined to die unrecognized as the flesh- and-blood person behind the “Shakespeare” pseudonym. He tells us in his Sonnets that "my name be buried where my body is," but he also tells us in these very same Sonnets his own true story, a story of how one of the greatest men in world history wound up dispossessed of his life's work and erased from history. It is a story told indirectly and subrosa, in a unique coded language. But it is there, and it is amazing.

About the Author
Peter Rush is a professional analyst in the field of information technology, with a lifelong passion for history. He graduated Swarthmore College in 1969 and earned a Masters in History from the University of Michigan in 1973. He was drawn to the Shakespeare Authorship issue sixteen years ago because of his commitment to employing evidence-based methodologies to contentious issues and his interest in historical research. Since then, he has immersed himself in the controversy, including writing several newsletter articles and reviews for organizations involved in the Shakespeare authorship issue. He has also conducted extensive research on the Sonnets because, following the breakthrough discoveries of Hank Whittemore on the structure and meaning of the Sonnets, he believed that the Sonnets might hold vital clues that could finally resolve the controversy once and for all.

The Shakespeare Sonnets Emerge from the Shadows to Enter Political and Social English History
By William J. Ray
Peter Rush’s 'Hidden In Plain Sight' is a significant publishing event in the history of modern Shakespeare Studies. The study provides the first closely reasoned rebuttal to what mainstream scholars have mistakenly assumed the Sonnets were and meant, i.e., a lovelorn diarist poet infatuated with a youth. In place of that cliche, Rush explicates the circumstances of the Essex Rebellion as first theorized by Hank Whittemore, author of 'The Monument'.

Four respected critics of SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS with whom Rush takes issue, all universally praised in the periodical press as profound and insightful thinkers, are shown to be incompetent at explaining the subject of the poems. The simple reason is that neither they nor modern History have ever known the crucible of historical events from which the Sonnets emerged.

On the contrary, they could only speculate what these world-famous words meant if written by a Warwickshire countryman. Unfortunately nothing fit. Identifying “Shakespeare” with the Stratford Miracle Myth is a Shakespeare-industry-wide mistake, one intentionally insinuated into the First Folio front matter. Its purpose, achieved mainly through the clever language of Ben Jonson, was to avoid destabilizing political effects while ushering the Shakespeare dramatic works into permanent print-based reality.

Lacking these backroom elements of an accurate and connected History, Shakespeare Studies has been invited into the hopeless stance of applying critical generalities, abstractions that evaporate overnight into nothing, like Narcissus’ fleeting image in the pool of water.

But intellectuals are not entitled to profess nothings.

Providing the missing historical context, Rush's book places the Sonnets in its correct frame: repressive Elizabethan England, specifically the Essex Rebellion of 1601.

To the point. According to Rush’s research, the bastard son of Elizabeth I, Henry Wriothesley, 3rd Earl of Southampton, took part in actions judged to be a state rebellion. He was tried and sentenced to die––with his own father, Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, leading the Queen’s jury. de Vere was revered as the author of the foundational Narrative of the English State, later to be known as Shakespeare’s Histories. The political crisis became recorded, through the Sonnets' art, as a live depiction of the father's, de Vere's, personal anguish and agony, without names, just allusions to the principals of a vanishing Kingship.

The Sonnets, which as fragmentary verse we can only label ‘high poetry’, chronologically seize in amber the political tragedy of father and son. The third member of the family triangle appears to have been Elizabeth I, the outwardly Virgin Queen. In short, SHAKE-SPEARES SONNETS was and remains political dynamite. Only thirteen copies survived. Accordingly, they were minimized since the later Jacobean era as romantic rhyme.

That this summary sounds like fiction is owing to our official history being the result of selectively destroyed documents. This was most probably the work of Robert Cecil, the younger First Secretary to the Queen, de Vere's hostile brother-in-law. The ensuing informational vacuum over time has choked off anything like accurate memory of the events and participants surrounding the Sonnets. The language however remains forever through the permanence of print.

The official eclipse of the primary political problem, de Vere, Southampton's father, followed by the eventual poisoning of Southampton his son––and his grandson James, eliminated the Tudor bloodline and buttressed the Stewart dynasty for a few decades. The unwritten underbelly saga is today’s incipient early modern English History, at last on the verge of widespread understanding in the Western World. All readers will then appreciate the poetry as a cohesive cycle, not a somewhat puzzling text containing several universal sonnets.

The eyewitness text has always been available, just never rightly comprehended. Rush’s primer serves as an invaluable translator of the poems, heretofore covert, but now readable in the person of the necessarily pseudonymous “Shakespeare”.

Peter Rush honors the first investigator into the explosive political circumstances behind the verses, Hank Whittemore. But his book stands on its own as a detailed and accessible path to the historical and tragically poetical truth of that time. It is considerably shorter and more of a story than Whittemore's huge scholarly text.

An indication to me of the quality of the book is that I found no typographical errors over 382 pages. The appendices are also extremely helpful. Appendix I summarizes the Stratford narrative and its failings, basically a catch-all of suppositions peddled for centuries as fact. Appendix II encapsulates the life and work of Oxford the literary genius for those with no background knowledge of the time. Appendix III is Hank Whittemore’s essay about the “other” Shakespeare poems which are virtually ignored in the discussions of the authorship question. The 'other' works are intimately tied to Elizabeth and Southampton.

Appendix IV, Whittemore’s “Southampton’s Tower Poem” essay, deserves widespread publication. Included here as background, it substantiates that Southampton and Oxford were in close contact while the young Earl was imprisoned. The proof is in the comparative reading. The language Southampton used to plead to Elizabeth for his life during the Essex Rebellion parallels what must have been the unpublished, utterly loyal, Sonnets. Appendix V contains Rush’s Theorems, listing the cardinal points of the historical analysis. Appendix VI is a useful index to the Sonnet discussions.

In all, the book represents a labor of love and of conscience, a harbinger of future historically related Shakespeare scholarship.

Input from a many-years, died-in-the-wool Stratfordian
By Uncle Ruddy
This is a very thoughtfully written, erudite and readable book which I recommend everyone with any interest at all in the Shakespeare authorship question should read. Over the past 15 years I have read many books covering many opinions, starting with Looney and proceeding through Ogburn, Price, Roe, Whittemore (and that is just for the Oxfordians), Edmondson, Wells, etc, etc. Rush has done a masterful, very readable job in making Whittemore's brilliant and thorough research come alive and be accessible to everyone, while at the same time adding his own excellent research to the many points he addresses.

For those who have already read Whittemore or done other research on the issue, the book, for me, really took off staring with Chapter 12' "Reprieve By Misprision" and it just kept getting better. Having shed the conventional wisdom of my Stratfordian beliefs probably 10 years or so ago, at 70 I am a confirmed Oxfordian and a firm believer, now more than ever having read Rush's excellent work, in the Prince Tudor theory.

While my analogy is not perfect, I have come around to feel that believing that the Stratford man could write the canon is like believing Sam Walton could have written "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."

The truth has been hiding in plain sight and Nothing is Truer than Truth.
By Christopher Plummer
With 'Hidden In Plain Sight', Peter Rush takes up the mantle from the incomparable Hank Whittemore, as he further decodes Shake-Speare's sonnets. Though it seemed an impossible and somewhat futile task, due to the exhaustive and unparalleled research from Whittemore, the very Monument that Whittemore has created has lead Rush to press on, deeper into the forest of lies in order to save us all from them. Untangling the carefully woven vines of deception that have held us back from the truth for far, far too long, Rush, like Whittemore before him, has forged ahead and reinforced the conclusions made by Whittemore and taken great strides forward in solidifying the true meanings of the sonnets and their raison d'etre. Both Whittemore and Rush are now responsible for gently guiding us to stare into the dazzlingly colorful mosaic of the sonnets and whispering the simple trick to make our eyes adjust, revealing their true intention, the incredible mind that conceived of them and the tornado of blissful pain that surrounded their birth. Whether you believe that one person created the plays of William Shake-Speare or not, the sonnets are, without doubt, the work of a single mind and the breadcrumbs have finally lead us from the dark forest and to the feet of Edward De Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford.
